Beck had his 4 month check up on his 4 month mark, June 26th. He is now over his cough, eye infection and ear infection. However, he is still a very fussy baby, so I talked with his doctor more about it. We had a lab test done previously to check for any milk allergies and the result came back negative. So, the next step was to see if the lab test just didn't pick up anything because it is too small to see. The doctor decided to put ME on a diet! I can't eat anything with milk, soy, soy lecithin, or whey. This pretty much cuts out everything besides fruit, vegetables and meat. The upside is, I am losing weight. The downside, it is a difficult diet. I am on this for 7 days, and then, one at a time, we will add to my diet to see what causes him to be more fussy, and chances are he is allergic to that food. I guess it is supposed to take 7 days to get all that stuff out of my system, and I hope that is the only reason he is still just as fussy, or my diet is just causing frustration for me! So, today is day 7, and last night was a bad night. I don't get it. I would think all those ingredients would be out of me?
I just want a happy baby. Is that too much to ask for?
Well, back to his check-up. He had his immunizations, as scheduled. I was reluctant before he was born to give him all immunizations, but Geoff and I have decided, that it is the best thing we can do for our child, and for society. So many people don't immunize their children these days and so, old diseases are coming back.
As for Beck's four month stats:
Height: 25 inches- 75th percentile
Weight:13 lbs.- 25th percentile
Head: 5th percentile
He is doing what he should be doing at this age, other than sleeping on a good schedule, and not being so fussy. He loves to grab at things, and he has a favorite toy already. It is a little colorful blanket thing that has different sides that make different noises. He loves it! He tries to put his binky in his mouth, but when he can't, he either sucks on his fist, or his pointer finger. He loves his swing, it is our saving grace, both day and night right now! He loves his sister, and is getting used to the pestering, which is constant. He hates his car seat, so going out is usually not fun. His favorite position is to be held in your arms, faced forward with feet dangling. That usually makes him happy, but I say usually because nothing is "just right" for this baby.
We love him and hope he feels better soon, and hope we figure out what is causing his pain and unhappiness.

Joy, Beck sounds a lot like my #2 child Dawson. We did tests too and couldn't find anything wrong.....he was just fussy so I know how you feel. It is sooooo frustrating but so worth it now, he is 4 and so much fun! He grew out of it at 18 months and that was seriously the hardest 18 months of my life. Good luck to you, hope he feels better soon. He is darling by the way!
hopefully, everything will be determined soon as to what's bothering him.
but no milk? wow. no dairy? what's your daily food like? i mean, meals? i'd like to see that on your site. :)
Oh, I hope they find out what his problem is, you love them so much and it hurts when they hurt. Otherwise it sounds like he is growing fast.
