We didn't get it on video, we didn't get it on camera, but we do have it in our memories, that tonight, Paityn took her first steps!
She was so excited, as were we...but she is still VERY cautious.
I think she took three at once, going from Geoff to me, with my arms out!
It was so cute, and I am sure it will be happening more now, so we will try to capture it on film this next time!

Good Job Paityn!!
I can just imagine how cute she must look and how PROUD you two must be as she begins this new phase of her life!
Give her a big hug and kiss from me!
Love,
Mom and Grandma
Way to go miss Paityn! Joy...I hope that you had her all dressed up while she took her first steps! HA HA! I am getting excited for my baby to start walking...it is such a fun milestone to see!
Go Paityn Go! That's exciting!
Connor and James still have your birthday present here ready to send...I guess I just need to venture out and find our nearest post office sometime this weekend :)
Oh she is so cute. I can't wait to see her walk, but it's kind of sad to see her grow up so fast!
Isn't it exciting.
I can recall the first steps of all my three, and the tumbles that follow...
I bet she keeps smiling though even when she takes a fall.
Growing up so fast...they do that dont they?
Charlotte started to walk a little later than Paityn, she was too busy talking I think.
Congratualtions paityn....
How exciting! I'm sure you'll be getting lots of videos. I still love watching our home movies when my siblings and I were young, especially when my younger brother was just about to walk.
My Mom told me that my sister didn't walk until she was 14 months old but never fell, where my brother and I were about 10 months and fell all the time. She said it was like my sister wanted to be perfect at it before walking, and we didn't. She said we are still similar in personalities.
(on another note, I'm glad you were able to figure out a way to avoid anonymous posters - so you can control who posts comments). I even opened a gmail account so I could post. It's a shame that you can't post a mature political opinion post without getting immature comments
Go Paityn! A world awaits you.
You go girl, I cannot wait to see her toddling along. I cannot believe she is gorwing so fast.
Such an adorable girl. I cannot wait to see her toddling along. Oh they do grow so fast.
Way to go Paityn!
I was lucky enough to get a little video of my oldest son's first steps... he choice thanksgiving day right in the midst of my family.
Aren't we parent's lucky to get to have all these memories?
Joy,
How you feeling? I just came by to see if you blogged at all and how you where feeling.
I still want to make you a baby blanket, even though I now know you sew. I wish I did.. I'm just learning to quilt. I can't say it'll be the nicest looking blanket, but heck I'd like to do it for you if you let me. (I just would need to know if it's a boy or a girl.)
I won't need an address to send it... I could give it to you at a public place when I visit my niece sometime in January or Feb. (Like Temple Square.) That way you can stay private. And you can bring your husband or some friends along for safety reasons. I would be by myself.
email me at dog_monday@hotmail.com.
(don't make this post appear on your blog. It's a private message for you. Thanks.)
That is a fun milestone, also two sided, she walks, and then she can go faster to get into things.!! Fun age, I loved it when my kids were small, the adventure of it all.
The only one I ever caught on camera was my youngest one, and that was ONLY because she'd taken a step or two in our bedroom, and my husband called out to me, screaming for me to grab the camera! I have picture after picture of her going from a sitting position, to pulling herself up with the aide of our bed, to letting go, to walking towards Daddy, then back towards me! :)
It's definitely a major milestone, and it's so much fun to see them waddling along (even though you have to be really careful to babyproof the house even more!)
Enjoy it while you can...it all goes by so fast!
