ALIVE....

Yes I am alive, I just had a really bad week being sick. Luckily, my sister-in-law Annice, and my mother-in-law Lyn came to my rescue and gave me some much needed resting time. As I rested, Paityn enjoyed being entertained by them, and I am sure she loved the break as well! We have done a few fun things over the last few weeks, and I when I play hard, I get even more sick. Well, first of all we had an event for Geoff's work on August 29th downtown Salt Lake. The XO awards honored 6 individuals who do extraordinary acts of kindness with nothing in return and it was exciting to be there to see them accept the awards.
Geoff took Paityn to the University of Utah vs. UNLV game last weekend with Geoff's best friend Micah. They had fun and I enjoyed rest time, and even a few hours of girls night with some friends!
The Utah State Fair was another highlight. We went with our friends, Brandon and Kim.We ate Funnel Cakes (yum!), and played a game to see who could come up with the best gift for their spouse for under $10. Brandon won! we also went on the BIG YELLOW SLIDE, and I was scared to death... I am getting old!
We went miniature golfing another night, with B&K again, and the loser had to buy the winner ice cream after. Well, Geoff won, so Brandon had to buy him ice cream so we went to ColdStone Creamery.
This past saturday we went to Lagoon Amusement Park. I had never been there, and it was fun...not quite like Disneyland, but fun! I actually didn't even go on 1 single ride, being pregnant has MANY drawbacks. Kim didn't really feel like rides either, so the guys rode the roller coasters, and we played the games to win stuffed animals. We did well, because we only played the ones where we compete against eachother, so one of us had to win every time! Paityn enjoyed watching everything going on, and fell asleep in the middle of it all!
So, even though I have been really sick, I have pushed myself to get out of the house a few times and have some fun with my family.
At this point I am coming up on 14 weeks pregant, I think...so I am going to try to find out soon what the sex of our child is going to be. If you ask me now, I say BOY! Just a feeling, but I really want another girl.
I will add pictures later, just wanted to update while I was feeling good enough to do so.
P.S. If you comment doesn't show up right away, or ever, it is because I am moderating them now, so I read them before they appear. I have been too lazy to let them appear lately though, but I do get to read them, and thanks for all of your care and concern!

sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well, but good you are getting help from family and friends. Is it better that you know what to expect being it's your 2nd pregnancy or worse because you have been through it before. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Sounds like you have kept yourself busy anyway. I went to Aruba over a long Labor Day weekend and it was paradise. But now that I'm back home just busy at work.

Too bad you have to moderate your comments, more time taken out of your busy schedule, but I understand.

Wow, you sure have been busy, but it sounds like a lot of fun. We just got back from an 11 state trip. So I can relate to the tired part, not sick, but just exhausted.
I am sorry also, that you have to moderate.
I love your blog, and hope you continue it, you are a really good writer.

Hi Joy,
So sorry you are still feeling so bad. I had it like that with all 3of mine.
They told me with Christian it had been the hormone difference....male female. But I got it with both the girls too....so that blew that one out.
It never totally went, but I did gradually feel better after about 16 weeks ,and then it kept on improving. I hope the same happens for you.
I saw that Lyn gave you a break I think she had a lot of fun. I envy her. Wonderful pictures.
Anyway, dont push too hard and treat yourself kindly.
Take care,
pen

hope you are doing better. morning sickness can be rough by itself, but adding in an almost toddler makes it harder.

hang in there.

so glad you are able to enjoy some outings. Hopefully your sickness won't last much longer. Aren't families the best? Sounds like you have a great one.
