Training for a Race
I really am!! I have to write this so I actually believe myself, and can look back at when I began training. September 10-11th I will be running the Red Rock Relay with some neighborhood ladies, and I am so excited. I started training on Wednesday March 17th, yes, two days ago....and luckily, I have almost 6 months to train. I need it. I can't even run 3 miles without stopping. BUT....I will get there. I believe in myself. I am ready to get back in shape, and get back the endurance I once had in me.
What is the Red Rock Relay?
It is a 180 mile run, from Brian Head Utah, to St. George UT. We are in teams of 12, and each have 3 legs to run. I will be running anywhere from 10-18 miles total, but not all at once. Go here to find out more: redrockrelay.com
Wish me luck!!!

wow, how brave you are, and what a challenge, but also probably good to challenge yourself. I know what you are feeling, I also challenged myself, I am 63 and I started weight training, and walking program three weeks ago. Also a weight watcher program. I am doing okay, no wieght loss, but I feel pretty good. It is not as challenging as you are doing, but it is still a challenge. I look forward to keeping track of your progress. Good luck to you.
Yeah, that's what I say, too! Wow! I am not a runner, or any kind of endurance kind of person, so this seems like a lot! Plus, isn't it HOT where you will be doing this running?
I, too, have been dieting. And exercising. I have finally figured out that I just have to exercise to stay fit.
Good luck, Joy. I know you can do it, too!
