Independence Day

The fun on the carnival rides begins...on the 3rd of July
Despite the look on her face, she loved the big yellow slide, and so did her mommy!

Holding on for dear life. Poor little Paityn, we are sorry if we traumatized you for life.

Get me off of this ride, please!!!
It even took her a while to warm up to the slow moving ducky ride, because she had just been on the kiddie roller coaster.
Maycee and Paityn, eating their corndogs before the movie in the park.

Her hair

The next day, she shows how happy the slide makes her.
The bumpy carousel ride.

Getting the fireworks all organized!
Kim, Paityn, Beck, Joy...waiting for the "show" to start
On Saturday, at the Riverton Days carnival

Simply Scrumptious, don't you think?

Beautiful family, with mom behind the camera.
Paityn wants to throw a water balloon too!

I love this shot!
and this one!

I am grateful that we have this day to celebrate our country. I am also grateful because it means fun times with family and friends. On Friday night, the 3rd, we went to Riverton Days for carnival rides and a movie in the park. Paityn LOVED the big yellow slide, but wasn't so fond of the kiddie roller coaster. I think she was too young for it, but they let her go on it. We had them stop it when we saw just how terrorized she looked. Our good friends, the Anderson's met us for the movie. Paityn and Maycee are much different in size, but they really like playing together. I hope it continues for years to come!
On Saturday morning, we headed back to Riverton Days, for a pancake breakfast, and more fun at the carnival. You wonder why all this fun in Riverton? Well, our city didn't have a 4th of July celebration, so we decided to go to the closest city that did celebrate.
That afternoon we headed over to the Ellis' home for food and fireworks. We did the usual, BBQ, and then the girls sat on the front lawn with the babies while our husbands put on a show. Not only did this show include fireworks, but a few water balloon games. When Brandon and Geoff get together they are always crazy. They decided to throw balloons at eachothers faces because they thought it would be a cool picture, and they were right! The fireworks were fun, and Paityn enjoyed watching them. Luckily, Beck fell asleep after dinner and slept until almost 11 pm, so he missed his first year of fireworks, oh well.
Oh, and did I mention, I made Paityn's outfit this year? Well, it turned out so dang cute, and I loved it!
It was a great year, and I always love celebrating the 4th of July. Now I am ready for more fireworks.....

Paityn's outfit is adorable. That picture of her and Beck is precious - his look makes you wonder if he's thinking - she's hugging me too tight.

Sounds like a fun 4th, and I'm sure every parent has put their child on a ride they are scared on. Don't worry, just think she won't remember it when she gets older.

I went to the Washington Nationals baseball game on the 4th (they amazingly won) and watched the Washington DC fireworks on tv (although we could hear them).

The photos of the water splashing on Geoff are amazing - how'd you get the one photo so you can see the actual water drops
