27th Birthday

When Geoff and I met, it was right before his 27th birthday, and now, 4 years later, it was my turn to celebrate the ripe old age of 27!
We had a really fun day. I decided to plan it, because Geoff believes my expectations are so high around any holiday, and has pretty much decided it is just easier, if I do what I want and he comes along for the ride!
My plans started out the night before, with Geoff being the one to take care of Beck in the night, and feed him every 3 hours, since now he is being bottle fed. I thought I would have a good night sleep, however, Paityn woke up and wanted to sleep with mommy, so my night didn't go exactly as planned. What does though, when you have children?
On my birthday morning, I woke up about 8, made homemade waffles, and then went off to get a massage while Geoff babysat. It was a good massage, but not the best. I wouldn't go back, and it almost made my day worse, because I guess the massage tried to clean out my toxins, so I wasn't feeling the best. Symptoms included a headache for about 24 hours, bummer! It was relaxing though, and I wish I could get a massage everyday. If only I was rich!
After the massage, I came home, Geoff had the kids and himself ready for the pool, and once I got ready, off we went to get some sun, and have more fun. Sally and Maycee were there too, so it made my day even better! We stayed at the pool here in Daybreak for about 1 1/2 hours. I could have stayed all day, but Geoff and the kids needed a break. We came home, had some lunch, and took a nap.
Granny Lyn came about 4 o'clock and watched the babies while we went to dinner, a cupcake bakery and a movie. Actually we got the cupcakes before dinner because the bakery would have been closed by the time we got there. SO Cupcakes, in Murray Utah has really good cupcakes, but a bit pricey. For dinner, we took the recommendation of my friend Sally and went to EPIC, which is in Midvale. We LOVED the flatbreads, for appetizers and dessert, but our meals were just so so. Yes, I had dessert at the restaurant, and then cupcakes for 2 days!! It was my birthday, and that's what I wanted!
Before the movie we stopped back by the house to drop off my box of cupcakes, and quickly went on our way to see THE PROPOSAL. It was good, and really funny. I think Geoff liked it too, as much as he could like a chick flick I guess. Again, it was my birthday, so I chose a movie I wanted to see!
We got home around 10, and Aunt Ree had come to the rescue watching the kids so Granny could go home about 8. By this time I was SO tired, and my head was aching uncontrollably (is that a word?)so I hurried to bed.
What a great birthday I had this year, and I got to spend it with my favorite people ever, MY FAMILY!!!My 3 favorite people

Sally and Maycee Jane
My beautiful babies
My favorite, hmmm. they were all so good. I did enjoy the banana cream, red velvet, lime, and carrot cake to name just a few!

First bite, mmmmm!!!

Appetizer: Flatbread topped with Blue Cheese Brie, House dried tomatoes, and carmelized onions
Dinner: Joy had the Seared beef sirloin with brandy cream sauce and au gratin potatoes. Geoff had the Ahi Tuna, with spicy peanut sauce and veggies. He even made me try a bite, and I'll admit it wasn't too bad
Dessert: Flatbread topped with cinnamon sugar, glazed apples, and vanilla bean ice cream. Delish!
Favorite part of my birthday...spending it with this man. Isn't he a stud?

I wish for.....

Sounds like you had a great birthday - well except for the headache from the massage. That's nice you and Geoff were able to spend time together and have family close enough to babysit. I saw The Proposal and thought there were alot of funny scenes.

The picture of you and the kids is really nice - I like how you soften the corners.

The cupcakes look great - and they look like small sizes so a good excuse to eat more then one.

Glad you had a great birthday.

What a lovely day, and what great family to give you a birthday break. I love cupcakes, too. I must resist most of the time, but ....it does not always work. YUM!
