1st "injury"

Yesterday marks a milestone in Paityn's life, though, not one that I ever wished would have come. We were having a great day down in Newport Beach with my cousins, when I decided to put Paityn on a patio chair so she could eat some chips. I walked away for 5 seconds, and I looked back and saw her falling to the ground. I thought she caught her fall with her hands, but realized that wasn't the case when blood came gushing from her little mouth. I ran to her, picked her up, and noticed that she had bit through below her lip, and had an immediate bruise under her chin, which must have been what hit the ground first. She wouldn't let us put ice on it, she wouldn't even lick a popsicle, so I decided to take her to urgent care in case she needed stitches.
Luckily, the doctor said it was so small that it would heal quickly. She gave her a dose of medicine and an ice pack (which Paityn wouldn't dare let me put on her chin) and off we went.
She was so tired by this point, and fell asleep quickly upon returning to the beach house. We drove home, she slept the entire way, and she slept all night, with one wake up for more pain medicine. Today she is back to her normal, happy self. I ask her where her owwie is and she gets a sad look on her face and points to her chin. I hope this is the last owwie that happens for a LONG time. I can't take the pain I see my babies go through. It's just so sad.

I hate those moments! I'm glad it wasn't too serious. Have fun on the beach!

awww, poor Paityn, although I'm sure it was worse for you then it was for her.

Good she didn't need stiches. I don't know how parents do it when their kids get hurt, even the little things.

I was watching my friend's 7 year old son at a pool party today, and I glanced over and he was in the pool but by the side of the pool crying, holding his side of his face. I jumped up and ran so quickly to him, my friends wondered what was going on. Luckily another friend was right there and said the 7 year old just banged into the side of the pool when he was swimmming. Turned out to be nothing as about 2 minutes later he went back to swimming like nothing happened but it scared me.
