An Update

Well, it is coming down to the wire. I have a little over a month until the baby is due to arrive. Hopefully much sooner, I am getting tired of being pregnant and taking care of a toddler! Although, I might wish to be pregnant again instead, once I am taking care of a newborn and a toddler.

I had a doctors appointment this past Friday, and all is well. I am back to gaining weight, unlike my apt. before when I lost a pound! I think I am up to having gained 42 pounds, yikes! I sure hope I don't reach my weight that I got to with Paityn, but that would require like a pound a day until I have the baby....that isn't likely, right?
I am getting more excited as time goes on, and more nervous, and all of those emotions a pregnant woman gets when she is about to have her baby. I am feeling prepared, as Beck's room is almost complete, except for his closet which is still full of our stuff. That keeps bugging me, but it will get cleared out as soon as the basement is finished (cross your fingers for this weekend hopefully).
I don't think Paityn really knows that a baby is coming, but I tell her there is a baby in my belly, and she lifts up my shirt and either lays her head down, and says "oh", like she is giving him love, or she will kiss my belly, but not just a sweet tender kiss, but one where she blows on my belly, and makes that noise (you know, how mommies and daddies do to their little ones!)
We are just preparing little by little, trying to find a Big Girl Bed for Paityn right now. They are just so expensive and I can't find anything used that we like. I actually don't like thinking of the term "big girl" because she is still just my little precious baby, but I know once we have a newborn she will seem so grown up. That is why I need to enjoy this time that I can cuddle her, and pretend she is still my tiny little baby, oh, I love her so much, as does her daddy. It is adorable to see him with her. She loves her daddy, and he can't get enough of her. He goes in to get her every morning and she brings him a book, so they read together before they come out of her room. I try to overhear them, and it melts me!
The next few weeks will keep me busy, I am sure. We are going to the Draper Temple open house tomorrow afternoon, then Saturday is Valentines Day, and we are getting a teenager to babysit for the first time ever, my sister-in-law Annice is due with a little girl that same day, so I am sure she will be coming very soon. Next week, I have a baby shower, and a doctors apt. and then Paityn goes to her first dentist apt. See....I will be busy!
So, yes, I just keep rambling, but remember...this blog is like a journal for me, and I want to remember everything I am thinking at this time in my life when things just keep going by too quickly. If you are still reading at this point...I hope you have enjoyed!!

OOoooooooo!!!!! so exciting!!! love the room!! Can't wait!! feel like I am on the journey with you.. but maybe with out the swollen ankles bit.. :0)

Beds are so expensive but a must so they have you over a barrell, I work in a departmental store over the UK and know they add a lot of % to the cost price.

You enjoy your time with your baby girl.. and when Beck is asleep it's Paityn and Mummy time.

about the big girl bed, have you checked ikea. some of their things are really cute. my boys have knocked over their dresser and it is still in one piece. the only problem is I have to tighten the screws at times. they have the white beds with the bead board look. also, if you are in utah the DI makes real wood beds and sells them for $150 good quality. i thought they would look good painted because they are just the wood color. you could do a bed like out of pottery barn-how they paint them a pretty pink or a green. i can't remember how they were shaped though, but you are super creative so i am sure you will find something perfect. good luck with the baby. i just had my third and it did not go as bad as everyone said it would. it really isn't that hard with three little ones. so, hopefully it will go really well for you. love your little boys room-if i didn't do mine already i would steal the idea.

It's nice to share your journal with you Joy.
And its good you are feeling some excitement now....not long to go.
Our dear little Charlotte fell off mommy and daddy's bed today and has broken her arm. She looks so pathetic with her little sling. We just found out her mommy is pregnant too so she has had a hard day.
Anyway this is your blog not mine...sorry.
Have fun these last few weeks, stay slim...Ha!!

I love Beck's room decor, you sure have been busy. Do not forget to relax a little bit, before the baby is born. You will need it, because you will be busy, busy, after the baby is born.
It sounds like you have everything under control. Enjoy!!

I always love what you write! So keep rambling. :)
I hope he comes early too, but on the other hand, I remember at this point in my pregnancy w/Ashton, I was getting REALLY sad that it wouldn't be me and Braden anymore. I almost felt like he was going to be taken away from me, or something was ending instead of beginning. Does that make sense? Soak in every second you have with her!!! That's my point.
I'll keep checking for updates and hopefully a surprise one of these days with a picture of Beck!
Miss you!

Glad to hear everything is going well with your pregnancy.

The room for the baby looks great. Sounds like a busy upcoming few weeks.

It should be interesting how Paityn reacts to the baby.

Hope you and Geoff have a nice Valentines Day. I'm heading to NYC and my friends and I are having a dateless Valentines Day dinner and slumber party.

Heather, I agree with you 100%. That is exactly how I feel, actually I have felt that way since the day I found out I was pregnant. I just want it to be me and Paityn, why does some baby have to come take OUR TIME? I know my feelings will change, and I am sure it happens to most moms. I really am trying to cherish this little time left I have with just the two of us girls!

If you can't decide on one middle name for your son have you thought about giving him two? Lots of people have three christian names and as they are all short names it would sound o.k. How about either Beck Owen Malan Osmond or Beck Malan Owen Osmond - both sound find. Just a thought.

I have never heard of the name Malan before - do you know what it means or where it originates from? Is it originally a sirnmame that has been used as a christian name?

With all my best wishes.
