This morning Paityn went to her very 1st Dentist visit.
She learned about brushing teeth, watched a video that showed a Monkey brushing and flossing
She got to see all of the fun tools they use, like the one that blows out air, and the one that suctions air.
The hygenist attempted to look in her mouth, and count her teeth
We got to play with a stuffed horse/moose animal that had big teeth, and we used a giant toothbrush to practice brushing on his teeth
Mommy got to sit in the chair and hold Paityn while all of this was going on
Mommy even got to play patient so Paityn could see that mommy does this fun stuff at the dentist office as well.
We attempted to brush Paityn's teeth, and stick the mirror in her mouth!
Paityn's favorite part had to be at the END....when she got to get some treasure from the treasure box. She chose a bracelet and a ring, of course!
It was nice to get her familiar with the dentist at such a young age, and get to understand about brushing her teeth.
We will see how well it works, Thanks Dr. Nelson!

Wow, I wish I went to your dentist, it sounds like fun! My niece hasn't quite mastered brushing her teeth properly yet. She glides the toothbrush over her front teeth, but that's about it. She likes to chew it too! Lol!
That is great that they do get the kids ready for the dentist and teach dental hygience at such an early age, It helped my grandkids, except one of them practiced on the dog. she lived through, her mom wasn't thrilled, but I thought it was funny.

Sounds like you have a great pediatric dentist and it's great it was a nice experience for her.
I have a story about my first dentist trip (although I don't remember it). My Dad took me to his dentist when I was 4 years old (my older sister didn't have a probem with his dentist). My Dad said it was miserable for him, he heard me screaming and crying for him and said after 5 minutes he went to get me, as he couldn't stand it. All the dentist had done was turn on the electric toothbrush.
Later my parents took me to a pediatric dentist and I was fine.
HOW cool is that???? Cor I wish we had stuff like that when I was little..
