Thanksgiving
Growing up I pretty much just thought of Thanksgiving as the day when we got together with family and ate too much food.
Now that I am becoming more in tune; as a wife and a mother, I have so many things to be thankful for.
Today I am thankful for:
1. My husband teaching me to dream...literally, how to dream. He has taught me the rules of how to remember your dreams, and it really works, amazingly!
2. My sweet Paityn teaching me patience each day. I am trying to learn this, and having her in my life definitely is great practice!
3. My dog Milo. He loves me no matter what, and he doesn't argue with me about anything.
4. My parents and all that they do for my family, especially their constant concern that we are doing well, and calling to keep in touch.
5. My in-laws: Jerry and Lyn. I am grateful for the help they give us SO often. Lyn always willing to tend to Paityn, and Jerry always giving a helping hand, or two...or three as he slaves away in our basement.
6. Speaking of basement, I am grateful for it almost being finished, and for the TWO MEN who work on it so often (Geoff and Jerry), and for my dad, for being the loan officer!
7. Food- after all, what would thanksgiving be without it? I really do love food every day of my life, and we are so blessed to be able to afford to eat what we want, when we want it.
8. My baby boy- he has taught me, as he is growing inside of my body, to embrace my belly this pregnancy. After all, I do look and feel much better this time around. Geoff told me it is a sign of things to come. Paityn gave me problems before coming to this earth, and baby boy is a little more gentle on his mommy, thank goodness!
9. Geoff's Career. I feel at this time, with the economy the way it is, and with the lack of jobs in our country, that I should be so blessed that Geoff has a job, and that he enjoys what he does, with whom he does it with.
10. The Gospel- I am SO thankful I KNOW without a doubt why we are here on this earth, and what steps we must take to return to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that Christ lives, and died for each one of us, and I love that I get to learn more and more about his life as I teach my class each Sunday.
With all of this thankfullness going on, I must say I am thankful that BLACK FRIDAY is approaching, because I love this day, it is a holiday to me! Hope it all goes well.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, and happy shopping...tomorrow!

Happy thanksgiving Joy and Geoff.
You know (well of course you do) that we dont have this holiday in England....{kind of inapropriate for us if we did.}
BUT I have always felt we miss something.
We should find a reason to have this Holiday.
I am sure we would all benefit from taking the time to stop and consider the many things we have to be thankful for.
It seems everyone moans all the time, but even amongst our trials, we all do still have many things to be thankful for.
I hope your day was good.
Dont shop too hard.
(Oh we dont get that either of course, I think that might be why we have boxing Day).
Happy Thanksgiving Joy and Geoff and family. Hope you had a nice one.
It's really nice reading all the things you are thankful for. I'm thankful too for my family and having a secure job in this economy.
Good lucky with the shopping.
I'm also thankful that I stumbled upon your blog about a year ago too.
Nancy
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I did, my daughter and grandkids came from Maryland for four days, and it was wonderful. I am thankful for my three kids, my grandkids, my boys girlfriends, my husband, my brother's family and that they are all healthy.
I hope you are feeling great, and not too full. Happy shopping!!
