We are having...

A BABY!
I thought I would announce publicly that we are pregnant with baby #2! I haven't gone to my first appointment yet, so I wanted to wait until after that to tell the world, but it seems that the news has slipped out anyway, so here I am telling you.
I am sure most have wondered why my updates are few and far between these days, and this is the reason. Just as I was sick with Paityn, I am VERY sick again. This is how I found out I was pregnant in the first place since it came as a huge suprise. I thought maybe food poisoning, e-coli, or something of the sort...but I should have known, the symptoms were that of a pregnant woman just beginning to be sick. Now I am full blown into the sickness stage, and I don't do well with pregnancy. I got my first anti-naseau medication yesterday so hopefully that will help a teeny tiny bit!
It is really difficult to do this sickness thing and keep Paityn well taken care of, but I try...best I can. If anyone ever wants an extra child in their care, please come my way, I could really use some helping hands.
I am hoping this time around I don't stay sick as long, but everything is going exactly the same as before, so I don't have much hope. We think I am about 10 weeks along, so that means at least another 10 weeks of being around the toilet bowl!
Does it sound like I am excited? HA HA... Well I really haven't been, but I am trying to just remember that the outcome far outweighs what I am going through for the next few months of my life.
Hooray for baby #2, coming in March 2009

Congratulations!

(check out baby.ourlittleuniverse.com. I've been there for several years, and it's been a great little online community all about parenting, pregnancy and what not. There will be plenty of women due your month too. They are very protective of everyone there too.)

yes, congratulations! I am sorry to hear that you are so sick, I hope it passes quicker than you think. It will be great for Paityn to have a baby sister or brother. I would love to help you with Paityn, I do so miss babies, since my grandkis went and grew up. Unfortunately I am a long ways away and can't help, but maybe somebody will come along and be your mommy's helper. good luck!

Congratulations, that's exciting news. Sorry to hear about you being sick, at least it sounds like you know what to expect - although it doesn't make it better. Hope the medicine helps and it ends soon.

Wish I knew you personally and lived near you, I'd help babysit. I love babies and little kids and babysit for my friends often. Hopefully you can get family and friends to help with Paityn.

Anyway congratulations again and hope you feel better soon.

I knew it! I have missed your blog and in fact just checked in and was going to ask if you were ok, since you had said you were sick. I had a feeling...
Congratulations to all of you. One tip...when i was pregnant with my daughter I had morning sickness. Nothing as bad as yours sounds, but my Dr. suggested Schweps ginger ale. He said it had more ginger in it than the others, apparently ginger is the calming factor. Perhaps you could check with your doc...maybe some fresh ginger would help.
Will keep good thoughts for you!

Congrats on Baby #2! I think the age difference between Paityn and the new one will be good.

I'd love to help you but it'll be awhile before I'm in Utah again. But if you like, I have friends in Draper and Provo who might be willing to help you out. Plus my lil sis lives in Provo. I'm sure she'd love to help- she's always looking for friends. Just email me and I'll give you the numbers. (My email is on my profile.)

You may want to ask your Dr. if you can try ginger capsules-sold in the natural food section of a local grocery store.
I am so sorry you are sick. But you are right the outcome sure outweighs the sickness. Hopefully it too will pass. the age difference is perfect.
Take care.

Oh yeah!!! Congrats! That is so exciting. Bummer about being sick. It stinks. Especially when you have other ones to take care of. I have definately been there. I would come down and help you but I think I would be more of a burden, dragging my three around, than a help. Hope you feel better soon!

I think we all guessed, for me it was the ice crunching.

With #3 I felt so sick and couldnt eat ,I had chocolate for breakfast...go figure.
Feel better soon.

COngratulations! I knew something was up...you are usually a very consistent blogger! Hope you get to feeling better! How far apart will they be? It sounds about the same as my boys-21 months and I have LOVED it!

Yep, your bro-in-law, Matt, spilled the beans. He didn't say WHO was pregnant, and it could have been about 20 others, but I just had a feeling.

Congratulations!

I have been waiting to congratulate you on this wonderful news!!! I'm so excited for you and our babies will be only 2 and half(ish) months apart! That is very exciting! I am more than happy to help you out when you need it! I get off work at 3:30 and I don't work some monday's and some friday's so come on over! I know how it feels to sometimes just get out of the house when you are sick and relax at someone else's home to get you mind off of all the stuff your not able to get done. Seriously, I'll give you a call or please don't hesitate to call me and we can get together and commiserate in pregnancy together!

Hope you feel better soon!

Congrats!! We're so happy for you guys! I have a friend who does acupuncture during her pregnancies, because her nausea is so bad.

I have another suggestion to maybe help you with Paityn. When I was young (too young to babysit on my own) -a woman from my neighborhood would pay me to play and entertain her twin boys who were 1 or 2 at the time, while she did things around the house.

She was still in the house but it gave her time to do chores and things.

Maybe you could pay a student or someone from your church to play and entertain Paityn while you are in the house resting, etc.. I wouldn't be as costly as regular babysitting, but it would be a help.

I'm sorry you're sick again!!!, that definitely doesn't make it exciting to be preggers. Especially when you have another child to take care of!! You know that if we still lived close by, I would take Paityn for you...every day!! I'm sad I can't help. :(

Any plans for Paityn's big #1 birthday?!? We'll be up there Sept. 5 and 6th, but that'll be too late. Maybe you guys can come to Cathy's that Sunday for dinner? :)

I'll call you. Hang in there. Gosh, I really wish I could babysit Paityn for you!!

Dear Joy and Geoff,

CONGRATULATIONS on your impending arrival!
HEARTFELT SYMPATHY on the nausea and barf-o-rama. (This too will pass, and I hope much sooner than later!)
MUCH LOVE to both of you and Big Sister Paityn! I wish I could join you for this weekend's celebration of Paityn's First Birthday - know that my thoughts and love are there in Utah with all of you.

I've heard that eating a saltine cracker before you even get up out of bed in the morning helps, as does eating smaller meals during the course of the day. I only suffered through sickness with one of my pregnancies, and it was night sickness during my first. It was horrible! But, like everyone else said, the final outcome is definitely worth it!

If it makes you feel any better, it's a good sign that you're suffering from morning sickness. It means the HSG levels are multiplying like they should, and the baby's doing well.

Congratulations to your growing family! I hope you get to feeling better soon.
