First of all, I had a comment on my previous post from a lady named "DIANE" and I want to tell her that I am not subjecting my daugther to some cruel punishment by having her wear headbands. Her comment was ridiculous, and made some pretty stupid accusations!! The headbands that she wears do not restrict anything, they are not tight in the least, they do not leave any lines on her head when I take them off, therefore showing that they do not "restrict the growth of her skull"!
Can you believe this lady? An Osmond fan I am assuming, since I do not know her, and I do not care to. Maybe she will stop reading my blog if she doesn't like what I am doing to my precious little girl!
On a happier note, ok, well not so happy.....is TEETHING! Paityn has had three teeth for a while now, two bottom and her right "fang". Well, as of this week she is getting in three more teeth all at once, and she is not very happy about it. This time she is getting in her two top front teeth and her left "fang". She was fairly good while the others came in, but this is a different story. She either wants to eat, be held, or she is crying. She still sleeps through the night luckily, but the mornings and nights are not fun. I feel so sorry for her. I have given her baby orajel, and a little infant tylenol, I hope that helps! I guess what I am saying is that I won't be getting much done since I have her to tend to. Wish I didn't have to go to work (don't we all?)Well, she is back to sleep at the moment (thank heavens) and I probably should get something done rather than blogging before she wakes!

We found that infant Ibuprofen worked better than Tylenol with teething. You might try that.
hey Joy...the headbands are darling..and this lady must have no sense of style! There is no brain restricting going on...and they are so cute...I wonder if I could get any one of my five boys to wear them!!! Take that comment with a grain of salt...but it is people like that that makes other people make their blogs private!!!Leave the headbands on...you're her mommy...and that is your right! If they were unsafe...they would not make them!!!
sorry you had to be subjected to someone telling you what you should do with your child. I think she looks sweet in them. Sorry she is having such a hard time with teething this time. Sometimes giving them a raw carrot to chew on helps.
I am a convert to infant ibuprofen as well. Some of my friends suggested it to me but I didn't try it at first because I really didn't understand how it would work any differently (I still don't know what the difference is exactly) but I have LOVED it since switching. I still buy Tylenol, but for most things I give Connor ibuprofen. Poor Paityn, getting three teeth at once can't be very fun.
AND
Paityn's headbands are ADORABLE! When I thought I was having a girl headbands are some of the first things I went out and bought.
Those headbands do not hurt her, my granddaughter wore them all the time. Some people need to get common sense, good for you to stand up to her.
I do not envy you the teething.
You are a wonderful mom, you balance work, wife, mom and home. It looks like to me you do a good job, and love doing it.
They have these "teething tablets" in a little bottle found in either baby section or the medicine and they are "natural"...honestly I don't know what they are but they worked 100% with both my kids. It was crazy. The tablets melt in the mouth and both my kids would be screaming in pain and mins later they would be fine and go back to sleep. I swear by them. Oh and shame on you with the headbands! :) Just kidding! But honestly who is that lady...I am telling you going private and you wouldn't have crazy people!
Oh and I think ibprophen (spell?) works better for the pain. My kids doc said that ibprophen for pain but Tylenol is better for fevers and reduces them quicker. Just thought I would share!
Can't wait to see you in a month or so!
I thought that was a weird and rude coment to make to you Joy.
I dont know where she is coming from....maybe she should go back there??? Ha!!
I assumed she must be joking because I though you knew her....so maybe not.
Teething, we have that now with Charlotte. She is 20 months and only has a few teeth to go, they came in thick and fast. She does get cranky, but even more than that, really mummy clingy.
Mine were awful when teething, dont envy you, or Paityn.
Well as an Osmond fan, I am sorry you had to be subjected to such a rude comment. I think they are adorable and I use to put them on my daughters when they were little just to make them look like gilrs until their hair grew in. On a another note-teething. I use to let mine suck on a popsicle in the bath or in the pool in the yard. Not need to put on any outfit and the washup is a breeze. Watch to make sure she does not bit off big pieces, but thenumbing help for a little while and they enjoyed it too.

I like the headbands, they make her look like a girl. My sister uses them on my neice b/c she doesn't have much hair yet. So you keep on doing what you are doing. You are the only one that knows what's best for your little girl. :)
sorry someone has to be obnoxious and post such a rude comment. Why people do that I don't know. I love the headbands on your daughter, I think they are adorable and I was going to tell my cousin about them, but she was also using headbands on her 3 month old.
Sorry to hear about the teething, looks like alot of others have given you good ideas to help both Paityn and you. Hopefully it helps.
Nancy
the headbands are adorable.
I used Hyland's teething tablets, and with my boys they worked much better then anything else. (Don't touch them with your hands or a metal spoon. Use plastic.) They also have teething drops now. My son took to recognizing homeopathic remedies such as this and would stop crying and fussing and take the remedy.
Joy,
This is just your mom...I would love to just hold Paityn all day long (if she would let me!) I hope all the suggestions people have given you will help her as well as you and Geoff.
Love,
Me
Hi Joy - I'm from New Zealand. I love your blog and think your daughter is just gorgeous. I came across your blog some weeks ago whilst googling "Osmond Family Tree". I was a huge fan back in the 70's and had the Osmonds plastered all over my bedroom walls!! After hearing that over 100 of your family had been on Oprah I thought I would try and find out how many children, grand-children, great-grandchildren there were in the extended family, was unable to locate up to date info, but somehow got hold of your blog and have followed it ever since. My youngest,a girl -Shannon is 7 on 25 June, but I think Paityn is just beautiful and like you I take heaps and heaps of photos of my kids - I believe you can never have too many. Take care and I hope I can continue to read your blog and see how Paityn changes over the coming months/years.

Joy,
I cannot believe that Diane would "yell" at you about Paityns cute headbands. I can testify that the headbands Joy uses on Paityn are not tight and come off rather easily as we have had to keep putting them on on occasion. Paityn is fine and her head is not in any danger. She is darling with the headbands and if they were bothering her she would pull them off.
The teething thing will soon be over, there are so many wonderful suggestions offered. I cannot even remember what I did with my children when they were teething. Have a wonderful day in spite of the teething and the rude comment.
Joy-
I agree. teething tablets worked bast for my kids as well. You know I had to go back and read the comment form Diane. That lady sounds like a real winner-give me a break Diane, got any advice for my kids as well? Perhaps Kali will lose brain flow to her head from wearing pigtails?
Ooh Poor Paityn and her teething ! ....... I recall my son cutting 3 teeth at the same time , not fun times ! , I remember he had a teething ring that had a gel like substance that you could put in the fridge to cool and he used to bite on that, that was many years ago now , and going by the replies here there are lots of other remedies out there now
Sorry you have been subjected to a nasty comment, she had NO business to say that.
Joy -
The same Diane lady comments all the time on my blog. I posted a video where a cartoon passes gas and she scolded me because it is offensive to people who have chronic gas problems. Also she has scolded me on liking Obama. She is quick to delete her comments however...
Tell Paityn that I love her!
Joy
just read the comments made by diane, just ignore her, my daughters wore headbands all the time, they loved lovely in them, and as for the comments made regarding brain injury and skull growth, well my daughters get grade A* at school, so i can assure you that headbands are harmless, just be thankful joy that you do not live near, are not related to, or have the misfortune of knowing this silly woman. as for teething we use something called bonjeala in the uk, its a gel you rub on the gums, works for babies and adults with toothache! your daughter really is a beautiful baby, its great you take so many photos, i have over 25,000 of my three
love Glenda
Try teething tablets. You can get them in any baby asile or from a homeopath. Before my mom died, she gave them to my nephew (who is 4 now) and he would laugh when he knew he was getting it because it worked so well. I recommend talking to your pediatrition about them. My sister ped had no problem with us using remedies. (My parents are RN's and homeopaths.. a good combo I think.)
And about the bows... I think they are cute on your daughter. Anyone with a brain can tell they are not too tight.
And I think your photography skills are awesome. I want to get at least that good myself.

BTW... the Erica that posted is my sis.... that is the remedy I'm talking about.
May I add your blog to my favorite blog list on my blog?
