My Ramblings

So I am not so good at this blogging thing any more. I seem to have nothing to write about, and my mind draws blanks quite often. I used to be fairly good at making things sound interesting, and capturing my audience (Geoff even suggested I write a children's book), however as of late, my creative side has not been around.
I thought since I have right now until tomorrow evening to myself I would take some time and blog. Ok, not to myself, but Geoff is gone on a boys adventure, fishing and camping under the stars. Paityn is sleeping, and Milo is minding his own, so as of right this second I do have time to myself.
I could be cleaning, organizing, or reading, but blogging is my obsession so I thought I would partake. And in reality, my house is always clean, I organize until it hurts, and I really don't enjoy reading, unless I am reading children's picture books!
For dinner I am going to have a pint of Ben and Jerry's Fish Food Ice Cream, but the lowfat kind, and I think I will eat that while I watch the movie I rented, "P.S. I love You". I could only rent something like this husbandless, so I chose tonight to be that night. Does that spoil my diet? Who cares, I really am no good at diets, I love ice cream and tasty treats too much. How did I ever go 34 days without candy? I don't know, but I have gone this entire week without candy again!
So, today we were supposed to be going on a family vacation to Cedar City to visit our friends, The Harpers. I was really excited about that. Not the drive, but the end result, hanging with some of our favorite people ever. Geoff squashed that idea when he decided he would rather go fishing with some of his best friends. Nice wife I am, I really didn't make a big deal of it. I mean, it is really nice for him to get guy time, and I don't mind the alone time either, because this is when I don't feel guilty eating ice cream for dinner, and watching a chick flick without a husband making fun of the pretend romance!
A few things on my mind right now since I still have a while before Paityn ends her nap...
Why do babies grow up so quickly? I miss the newborn cuddling!
Why is health insurance such an expensive necessity? Ours goes up almost $100 starting July 1st, so I am in the process of changing things around to save a lot of money. However, changing around means the coverage won't be as great for Geoff and I. Maybe the solution would be to work for a company that had benefits so we didn't have to do this stupid individual insurance stuff.
Summer? Yes, with a question mark because it still isn't here. Today is gunky weather, as it has been almost all week, and I really want the heat of summer to begin so we can get to the swimming pool
How do you take a good photo? I really have this burning passion to become a money-making photographer, but my photos are just sub par. I need willing subjects, so I can just practice, anyone in need? In reality, there are two things, the photographer is only as good as their camera lens, and how well they can edit. So, once I get a high quality lens, (which only cost in the thousands of dollars) and get to know how to edit like the truly talented out there, I will just be a mom taking pictures of her baby girl. (ok, and I left out that lighting is the #1 key to taking a good photograph)
New job/career? I have been asked to be the Director of child care for a preschool/daycare that will be opening in Daybreak next spring. This is an amazing opportunity, and I am very excited. The school will be called Oquirrh Mountain Academy of the Arts. Doesn't that sound like a great school to be apart of? And, I will be able to take Paityn for FREE. Everything is still in the works, but the Kennecott people, who are over all of the Daybreak community said yes to the idea yesterday, and will begin building shortly! I will fill you in more on this as things develop.
So as for all of that rambling, I am coming to an end, and going to get Paityn from her crib!

I love when my husband goes out of town so I can veg and watch chick-flicks! Will they need preschool teachers at that new school? I would love a job like that, you're so lucky!!! It's my dream to direct a preschool. So, if you need to hire good teachers, keep me posted, as you know I have the same degree as you. Have a fun night to yourself!!!

P.S. I think I know Heather, from your Beau & Heather link. Ask them to check out my blog to see if they know me since theirs is blocked. If they lived in the University Village when they were first married I bet it's them. Do you mind?

congratulations on your new job and career, that sounds great you can also take your daughter for free. Must be flattering too, for them to want you.

It's in the 90s this weekend here and with the humidity the heat index is 100-105 degrees (Washington, DC area)
Went to the pool with my neighbor who I "hang out with" (he's too old to say I babysit) on Saturdays

Your comment about babies growing up too quickly, I was wondering if the 9 months have flown by for you.

Great photos by the way of your daughter in the post below -

Nancy

You sure are a busy girl!!It sounds like you have a lot to be talking about.
Your photography could take you many places, career, family, etc. Your new job sounds great, and Paityn will benefit also.
Well, insurance is a problem, my son is a teacher, and insurance for his son is so expensive, he can't afford it. His ex works at a place, that they can afford the insurance. Thank goodness, they work together, even if they are not together.
I used to love it when my husband went on fishing trips, or schooling for work. He is retired now, and is ALWAYS HERE -LOL He is not in my way most of the time and we never dictate to each other how the other spends our leisure time. We go on weekends and trips together all the time, and feel we need to do separate things when home. It works for us anyway. Now, I am rambling. Will close

Dont stop the rambling Joy. Streams of consciousness, all great writers go that way. How about combining your writing with your photos...which as an amateur for 30+ years I think are great BTW. Maybe a children's book with photo illustrations.
I am sorry summer hasnt arrived. It came here this morning, not sure for how long. Sure raises the spirits to see the sun finally.
Never give up...

How rude!!! Who is this woman and what planet does she live on!!! Not only is it none of her business what you dress your child in, but what on earth is she talking about! It's one thing to voice an opinion (when asked), but she's trying to give you a direct instruction!

Joy, she is your daughter and you should dress her in whatever you want to. I think she looks adorable! Jo xx
