Father's Day started (last night) with a WONDERFUL evening dining at La Caille Restaurant, at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. It was an amazing dinner, with a price tag of $180.00, which included tip! You are probably wondering what kind of food we got to eat for that amount of money. Well, lets just say it was some of the best food I have eaten. This is what we ate:
Bread, and taste from the chef- duck with cucumber
Hors-d' ouever: Carpaccio- which is thin sliced kobe beef, etc...
Salads- wilted spinach, for me, and hearts of romain for Geoff
Main course:
Geoff-Venison Rack
Joy-Poulet Picatta Pomodoro
Dessert:
Banana Foster
Am I making you all hungry?
To go on....
The night was great, and all thanks to Anmaree because she watched Paityn while we went out together.
Today, we spent the morning just the 3 of us, and Geoff got some presents, including a fishing pole he wanted. Paityn also wrote him a poem which I will share. I decorated the downstairs with pictures of Geoff and Paityn, which turned out nicely!
After presents, we went to church and then after we went to Lyn and Jerry's for a nice dinner with the family. Geoff and I went over to the park across the street to take some pictures with Paityn as well.
And this is the poem, titled "Daddy"-written by Paityn Osmond, with a little help from mommy
Daddy
Me and You, a special bond,
I sure enjoy when you sing me a song.
I miss you so, throughout each day,
And I love you in a very special way.
When I see you come home, I always have a grin,
From ear to ear, and even on my chin!
My love for you daddy, just makes me want to smile,
Did you know this love, reaches higher than a mile?
I will treasure the times we laugh and giggle,
And love the times we sing and wiggle.
I cannot wait to spend a million years with you,
Starting with this first year, yes it is true.
I hope this first Father’s Day is a special one,
Because our bond has just begun.
Daddy, just know how I love you so,
And that is really all I want you to know.
I really love Geoff for being such a great daddy, and hope that this first Father's Day was a great one for him!

Okay, further to, got the big ones to open, but the collage of little ones just stay the same, which is a shame. Can you fix it please....
I knew Anmaree was a great aunt. I bet it didnt take much for her to spend time with Paityn whilst you went out, she is so cute (Paityn that is)
Your meal sounds fantastic.
I dont think we even have some of those things here in England. Sounds like you had a great time. I wish I still had my Dad. Its hard on Fathers Day and Mother's day.
We went to my son's though for a barbeque shared with his wife's dad and family. It didnt even rain..
Joy, you're too cute. The pictures are nice. I'm glad that Geoff enjoyed his first Father's Day. Paityn looks like her Daddy.
You do a wonderful job at paying tribute to people. I loved your poem, that will need to go down in Geoff's records of all-time-heart-melts!
You're pic's with your new camera are great. I think you should go into business and help people with their pic's and post their blogs! You would make lots of money!
La Caille??? Who's idea was that? I'm impressed whose ever it was! Good job on getting him there and paying for it! I've always wanted to go there and try their food. You'll have to tell me more later. Let's get together soon! Go play at a water park...oh wait, I'm not getting into a swimming suit this year! Ü
sounds like a great place for dinner - everyone should treat themselves to a good expensive dinner for special occasions
great photos too. Great you had such a nice father's day, and I hope your Dad sees the tribute you had for him below - that is really nice.
I had a nice father's day with my Dad - my brother, sister and I were with together (with my Mom) and had a nice dinner at my sister's house.

forgot to mention - Paityn is such a good writer - seriously that was really nice what you wrote about Geoff and his first fathers day- hope there is a way to backup all these nice posts for the future.

What lovely pics, you are such a good photographer. You are preserving such lovely memories. You will eventually enjoy them more when you are older and look back with Paityn.
I attended a brunch at the same restaurant back in October 2006 - it was one of the events that you could choose to attend during Marie's Doll Reunion event. I remember the food being really good and pretty! We took pictures of each course during the meal. The grounds at that place were beautiful as well!
I enjoy the pictures you include on your blog.
