We had such a great trip to California. Paityn and I flew down on Tuesday May 29th, and stayed with my parents until Wednesday afternoon. We had fun together, going to lunch with my parents and Grandma, as well as shopping. Grandma spoiled Paityn with a new swimsuit, sandals, hat and beach shovels. Wednesday, Geoff drove down with some work pals, and I met up with them in Oceanside in the late afternoon. We then got ready and went to a local Mexican Restaurant for dinner. Thursday, we went to Sea World and had tons of fun, but those pictures will be posted later. Friday we went to Carlsbad Beach, and Paityn LOVED the sand and water. She got sand all over, and didn't mind one bit! If you look close, you will see her little toesies, with nailpolish and all!
The reason for going to California in the first place was for the Maggies, which is a large Award Ceremony for Magazines published west of the Mississippi. Geoff went on Friday evening with Brandon, and they were so excited to win an award for Community Magazine. Business Connect was nominated as well, but they unfortunately didn't win an award this year.
Saturday morning, Geoff and the others got up early and drove back to Salt Lake, while Paityn and I enjoyed an extra day in Cali. We went to visit my best friend Danielle at her brand new townhome in Rancho Santa Margarita, which they just moved into the day before. We had fun visiting, and went out to lunch. After our visit, Paityn and I headed back to my parents house where we enjoyed a BBQ with my mom and dad, brother Paul, Aunt Marcy, and Uncle Chuck. Everyone loved seeing Paityn of course. Adam showed up too late to see Paityn so he came back on Sunday morning before we left to fly home. We had so much fun, seeing my family and vacationing with Geoff's work people. Hope we get to do it again next year, for our 4th year in a row!

sounds like you had a good time and isn't it nice that a business trip is in the same area as family - two visits in one.

I am glad you guys had a good time, and the little I could see the surf in the pics, makes me wish I had got to go to the beach with you. It is nice you get to go see your family and friends. There is nothing like family!!!
cute pics of all you guys. paityn is getting so big. i want to squeeze her...she is so cute. i wish we could have seen you! you know the next time i see you guys, paityn will almost be one. time flies. she is such a doll. love her.
