It was announced today that, President Thomas Spencer Monson is the new president of the LDS church. What a great feeling overwhelmed me when they said that, as we had just met him this past November at the funeral of Grandpa George. I know that he is an amazing man, and will live up to the calling he has been given. I cannot wait to see what is in store for him, and for the future of our church.
A few facts about President Monson
1. He was born August 21, 1927 in Salt Lake City Utah
2. He is an author, and wrote the book "A Christmas Dress for Ellen"
3. He was on Jeopardy...yes, you heard me, just google his name and you will believe me!
4. He is now the 16th President, and Prophet of the LDS church5. He graduated from the University Of Utah (where Geoff and I both graduated from, go Utes!)

I was so happy when I was watching the news conference. It was weird to not have Pres. Hinckley there. I am so happy! I LOVE listening to Pres. Monson's talks at conference. Thanks for the info about him. I can't believe he was on Jeopardy
Monson on Jeopardy? Does anyone have a copy of that show. I need to go google search that.
I am sure you know he wasn't really on Jeopardy, right? Someone photo shopped that and made it up!
