Paityn's 4 month Stats

Yesterday we took Paityn to see Dr. Ormond for her 4 month check-up. He said she is a perfect baby and he wouldn't do anything differently...yeah!! That is always wonderful to hear as a new parent. The exciting part was finding out that at 4 months and 16 days her stats are:

Weight: 15 lbs 5 oz. (and in the 75th percentile)
Height:26.1 inches (and in the 90th percentile)
He said that she is tall and skinny. Well I would like to be called skinny and still get away with having a double chin!! So it is nice to know that she is thinning out a little and lengthening a lot.
The not so exciting part was getting more immunizations done. I don't think any parent likes that part. Geoff wanted to leave the room, but I insisted he stay!! He actually was the one to hold her still, while I sat from afar and tried not to look as my poor baby was screaming at the top of her lungs. A little juice after, and all was well!
Now Dr. Ormond said we should start her on some solids. So at this moment Geoff is making his second attempt at the grocery store trying to find Stage 1 rice cereal. What a great daddy he is!
When he gets home we will begin the process of teaching Paityn how to eat from a spoon without getting to impatient. We will see how it goes....So for all you MOTHERS out there, is this when we should buy a high chair? I mean, she can't totally sit up on her own yet. Advice Please!

Yeah you need a highchair. Because when Geoff or someonelse isn't there told hold her, while the other feeds then it can get quite messy. I notice in one of your pictures you have one of those baby chairs, seat things (I forget the name?) that keep her sitting up. You could use that. but I think now that she (I am scared to spell her name wrong!) is ready to start solids then you want to sit her in the hair chair to eat and put crackers and what not (when she gets a little bigger of course)in front of her so she can start grabbing and reaching and exercising! She is so cute. Keep her double chin it's adorable! I hope advice from me is okay. I definantly am no perfect mother! :)

I would use a bouncy chair until she can sit all by herself...then do the highchair..My little guy will be 4 months January 28th and I am sure that we will be doing the same thing soon!! good luck! She is darling by the way.(OH, I am a friend of Matt and Annmarees incase you are wondering who this stranger is!!! )

We didn't have a bouncy seat so we ended up just keeping the kids in their car seat to feed them. They all really love their car seat so they stayed really still for the feeding part. You won't need an actual high chair for a little while. Geoff, the shots only get harder, at least at this age they forget about it. Wait until they're 5 and continue to tell you just how traumatized they are...

I am commenting again. Why am I the only one for a high chair! HAHA! But really my kids loved the high chair. It holds them up before they can sit up by themself. My kids loved sitting in the highchair so they could see all around. They would play with toys in it while I would cook. I guess my kids are different from everyone else. But I have to give a thumbs up on high chairs. Sorry about my 2 cents.

Hey Joy this is Alicia from California. I think you should get a High chair. Why not? It will be one of the best purchases you make for the next two years. Soon she will love all the new foods you give her and a high chair is the safest way to go. Plus, things are going to get messy over there, its good to have one designated spot for food mess.
