Independence Day the Cali Way

With this new business venture, STELLA and DOT, I decided to travel down to So Cal for a few days and  throw a few trunk shows. Barrett was my wingman. Here's what we did:

WED June 29th: packed, got ready and left at 2 am MST (ok so that is thursday morning, EARLY!)
                            Drove to about Scipio and parked at a truck stop. Slept for 2 hrs. Then back on the road.
THURS June 30th: Arrived in Claremont about 12:15 PST, headed to the village for lunch and a tour since this was Barrett's first time visiting my hometown. Ate at Pizza and Such. Yum!
Barrett said it was the best sandwich he had ever had!
                             About 5 pm we went to mom and dad's house, the rents met the boy, and then offmom
                             and I were to the trunk show. B and dad went to dinner. The trunk show was a success.
FRIDAY July 1st: slept in. Got ready for the 2nd trunk show. Another success. After the trunk show, (where Barrett met Grandma, Aunt Marcy, and Best friend Danielle), we went to dinner at La Tolteca. Dad's favorite mexican joint.
Met up with Dani and Jeff that night, went to dinner (round 2) with them. Fancy Steakhouse in Costa Mesa. Enjoyed a good night with them.
Stayed at there house Friday through monday.
SATURDAY July 2nd: Went Range Rover shopping, Danielle got a new car!! White Range Rover Sport. It is amazing. Dinner with lots of people. Another good night with Dani and Jeff.
SUNDAY: Took the Amtrak Surfrider Train from Anaheim to San Clemente. Spent the ENTIRE day at the beach. SO much fun. Usually I just lay out and tan (well before kids), this time, with no kids, I enjoyed laying out, and I had fun in the water with Barrett, TRYING to body surf. He succeeded, I just had fun.
More food, more fun!
MONDAY: Met up with the Family for breakfast at Cable Airport in Upland (a little airport where you can sit and watch the planes fly by while you eat).  Went to see Danielle's family in Upland after just for a minute. Then drove to Huntington Beach ( never go there on the 4th!...with a car). Spent a little time with best friend THERESA, and then walked down to the beach, had lunch at Wahoo's and walked on the pier. Busiest day ever at that beach.
Went back to parents house, said goodbye, and hit the road by 7:30 pm. We made it to Mesquite by 11:30 pm, and on our way, as we were coming towards Stateline, we had a beautiful firework show which ended with the grand finale right as we were next to it! Got to enjoy fireworks after all. I didn't think we would.
Slept in the car in Mesquite...it was hot, but we slept for 4 hrs. Then back on the road at 3:30, and we were home by 7:30, actually 8:30 am, in Utah. Fast drive. Good company.
We had an AMAZING trip, but both really missed our kids. Now we are planning a trip back in September with all 5 kids, yikes! Disneyland, Legoland and the Beach, here we come!!!
