Car Accident

Bad news. Sorry I haven't updated anything good in a long time. Life is crazy, and today it got even crazier. At 10:00 am I was on I-15 headed south bound towards home. It was snowing. My car started to slide, and I tried to overcorrect, causing my car to spin out of control about 5 times. All the engine service lights that possibly could go off, did go off, my life flashed before my eyes, and somehow I hit nothing and no one hit me. I pulled into the emergency lane on the left side of the carpool lane. I got my phone and called 9-1-1 because I was so shooken up, and I don't think my car was operable.
As I was on the phone with dispatch I was rear-ended at high speeds, causing the back of my vehicle to have severe damage. My phone was thrown from my hands, my air bags deployed, and my car started to smell of smoke, so I got out just in case it started on fire. As I got out, other cars began piling up behind our vehicles, 13 in total when all was done. About 2 minutes after about 3-5 cars were involved, several of us got out of our vehicles. A split second later, more cars hit the pile up, and a man out of his vehicle, was thrown in the air and landed and ran over by another vehicle. This was the hardest part for me. I was about 5 feet away, and I had to run so that I wouldn't get him by a moving vehicle. I think my car got hit 2 or 3 times total. I was the only person in my vehicle, luckily. When you look at the damage, some major injuries could have occured to any passengers. No damage happened to the drivers side or the front of my vehicle. When I saw this man get hit, I was in a panic, no Highway Patrol at the scene, nothing. Another man also got hit, but was only seriously injured. I ran up to a parked vehicle with a family inside and asked if I could sit with them while I waited because it was snowing and freezing outside. Kindly, they let me in to their packed Toyota Sequoia. They were on their way to a family function. Luckily they only had minor car damage and minor neck and back soreness. The freeway was closed down at one point, and then one lane was re-opened. All the while, I was filling out police statements of what happened, and trying to keep warm and not think about what all had just happened to me emotionally.
If you would like to read a brief summary of the accident visit www.ksl.com and look for I-15 13 vehicle pileup.
Here is a picture I took off the site. About 3 weeks ago I had just purchased this Nissan Pathfinder and was in love with it. Now it is most likely totaled. There are a couple more photos on the site.

I am emotionally injured, but physically I only have neck, shoulder and back pain, along with a severe headache and a bloody scrape on my nose, and a bruise on my butt!
The SUV you see there at the back (actually front of the accident) is my vehicle. you can see how severe the damage is.
ALSO....watch the video. Remember my car is the grey/blue nissan pathfinder with rear end and passenger side damaged.
I hope to never re-live something like this again. I thank my Heavenly Father that he was watching over me, and nothing more happened.

How scary and awful to read about your accident and the pile up. I'm so sorry you had to go through something like that. Must have been so scary especially watching the man getting hit.

I'm so glad you weren't severely injured and that you were the only one in the vehicle, and hope you recover quickly with both your physical injuries and emotional ones.
