Despite all that may be going on in our lives, we have been enjoying this holiday season as much as possible. Last week I took the kids to the Festival of Trees, which is a fundraiser for Primary Children's Medical Center. People, or groups decorate elaborate trees, and then sell them for A LOT of money, all of which goes to PCMC. This is the first time I have gone, and it was enjoyable. Luckily, the kids and I had some good company because we invited Steve, Kacey and Gavin Gardner to go with us.
Last night I wanted to take the kids to see the lights at Thanksgiving Point. I had heard in years past that it gets pretty crazy, and the lines are very long (you drive through in your vehicle). I invited Geoff to go with us, and so we all went. Dinner before hand, at home, and then to see the lights. Luckily for us, no line, just driving through. I am glad we went early in the season, and it was a beautiful night, no rain or snow. It was a fun adventure (Paityn thought that the huge light display of santa was a monster at first!). After seeing the lights we got out to see Santa's reindeer (who were really tired I might add), and then we let the kids run around in the tiny christmas tree lot there before heading home.
Next on the agenda, the Elves at Gardner Village, and next week, The lights at Temple Square. Not to mention I get to go to 3 Christmas parties this week. One for work, one with neighbor friends, and one that the children will come along to, because it is at our church and for families. Needless to say, we are keeping busy and keeping in the holiday spirit, but at the same time remembering really why we are celebrating this time of year. Christ is definitely the center of my attention right now, as he should be, and I will always try to remember that!
I will upload the pictures from The Festival of Trees, I have ran out of time, Farewell!

Looks like a fun time. I still remember all the years when I was young when my parents took my siblings and me to see the National Christmas tree and displays in Washington (including animals at the time) - great memories to have. Sounds like a great tradition to have with your family.
