This and That

warning: boring post ahead. Just trying to keep track of things.

Potty Training:
Paityn started last monday, and it has been a SLOW process, but I think it is working, somewhat. My problem is I don't know what to do when we go somewhere. If I put her in underwear while we're out, she'll pee in them, so I put
in a diaper. She doesn't seem to get bothered by having a wet diaper, or even a poopy diaper. I don't know if she is quite ready. So, I guess, maybe this isn't working? She does go on the potty most of the time, while we are home. The first day alone she had 6 accidents,The only time she doesn't have accidents is if she is naked, so around the house she is not wearing panties, or anything. I think in her mind, if anything is touching her, then she can pee and it will hold it in, if she is naked, there is nothing to stop it. We are not even close to dry diapers at nap time or bed time. I have been trying to stay home a lot, so she has time to learn, and not be stuck in a diaper, but it's just not always possible. When we are out, she has asked to go potty, like at church yesterday, but then when she saw the potty was not so clean, she opted out!
We did make a potty chart that she gets to put stickers on when she goes, and I got her some treats for when she goes. That helps a little. Luckily, I am not letting this situation stress me out like it did the first day. I will just let it happen at her pace. I'll keep going for another week, and if I see no progress we will wait a while.
I'll update more on this subject, when more positive things start to happen.
Race Training:
Paityn has been training to pee, and I have been training to run. Lets not get those two mixed up. I think I did that on facebook one day last week. I'm sure people got a laugh out of it! So, I have 8 weeks until my race. I am progressing well. My endurance is beginning to blossom. I am doing a half marathon training schedule that the team captain gave me. It is for 9 weeks, and I started last week. So, last week I was supposed to do 2 miles with interval training, DONE, do three miles, DONE, do 4 miles, sort of done, 3.2 miles. and 6-7 miles, sort of done, I did 5 miles. But really, I am SO proud of myself for running 5 miles straight!!! It was HOT outside, and I was dying of thirst and dripping in sweat by the end, but I did it. My goal was 6 miles, but with the 90 degree heat, I just couldn't bare it anymore.
So today I start week two, I will update once the week is complete.
Weight losing:
I have been eating like crap these days. It's funny because I am working my body harder than ever physically, but then I am putting terrible things into it daily. Not a good combination. I had actually been gaining weight, and no, not just muscle. Probably 10 lbs since Christmas. I figured it was time to eat like I was training for a run, and eat less, drink less caffeine, and drink more water. I am not on a diet, per se, but just being more careful with what my intake is like. The downside of the less caffeine part, (I think this is the reason) is that I got a HORRIBLE migraine last week, like day 3 of no caffeine, and I was in pain. Luckily, Lyn came to my rescue and watched my babies for several hours. I am doing better now, and I think I've only had like 44 oz of soda in one week, rather than one day! Ok...really I wasn't that bad before, but I at least drank 24 oz a day, and NEVER drank water. Now I drink plenty of water, and hardly any soda. Progress!
So, the weight loss part. I have lost 5 lbs, an inch in my waist, 1 1/2 inches in my hips, and 1/2 inch in my thighs. again, Progress! (and that's since last Monday).

I have heard of that method too Jan.
I have learned to not "interfere" though, so wont bother suggesting it.

Watch that caffeine Joy. As you know I have chronic migraine. Page on FB devoted to. Weekend headaches are common and almost always caffeine withdrawal. Need to do it gradually.
Good luck and well done with the weight loss, I cant lose an ounce.

Hey Joy, I have a too easy way to potty train Beck . . . if you're interested, email me. And too easy means, you don't have to do anything . . . he does it all by himself. Tried and true by my last two boys!
