Pumpkin Pie and The Owl

I decided that I wanted to bake, and since my oven is broken I went over to my mother-in-law's to use her oven. I was impressed with myself that I could make a pumpkin pie, though, in reality, that is probably the easiest thing to bake!

We enjoyed dinner, Geoff, Myself, Paityn and Lyn and Jerry. After dinner we had fun talking together, and Jerry spotted an OWL outside their huge pictures windows. We went out onto the deck, and the owl was on the roof, so I took a picture. It was pretty exciting to see.

The highlight though, had to be eating my pie. Yum Yum! It is always great to be with family.

I love pumpkin pie. Would it surprise you to know that here in England most people either have never heard of it, or assume they will hate it. My kids like it, and my husband. I have always made one around Halloween, but we are pretty much alone in this ritual over here. Yours looks great, I want some.
As for the Owl....Wow, I would love to have been there.
Glad you must be feeling better enough to bake Joy.

that pumpkin pie looks good. I like both pumpkin and apple - we have both on Thanksgiving. Do you use a special recipe?

That's cool about seeing the owl. We sometimes have them where I live. Although I live in the city, I live near a parkland so we have some wildlife. Just last night I almost hit two deer about 1/2 block from where I live.

Not sure if my previous comment went through, so just in case I'm writing again (just delete one)

That is really cool to see the owl. Although I live in the city, I live near parkland and have seen owls multiple times - always really cool to see. Just last night I almost hit two deer about 1/2 block from my home - one was just standing there in the middle of the road.
