Right now I am sitting here in the office, which is next to Paityn's nursery, listening to her cry in agony as I just let her be. It is extremely hard to let such a precious part of me be upset, in whatever it is that is making her cry. However, I do not want to go through what we went through last night. Last night when we put her to bed, she did the same thing, and that happened about 4 different times, from the hours of 8 pm-11 pm, because we kept going in and consoling her and bringing her in to our room. Ok, I have now heard silence for the past 3 minutes, hallelujah...and I only went in once tonight, because I thought her scream was a pain kind of scream. I think she has just learned how to cry just the right way to get us to come running. She is going to learn very quickly though, that we will not come just because she cries hysterically...and eventually she will fall asleep. Now it has probably been another 2 minutes, and still no crying. It feels good to have her down for the next 12 hours!!! (and as I finish the blog, I decided to hurry and take a picture of her....peaceful and asleep)
On a more happy note...
Last night during one of our Paityn rescues, Geoff brought her into our room and let her play on the ground. Well, the bottom drawer of the dresser was open, which is where all of Geoff's t-shirts are. She had so much fun taking EVERY one of those shirts out of the drawer. She looked like she was going to fall in as she reached for the very bottom shirts. I would say we had a pile of 30 shirts on the floor. I should have taken a picture while she was doing it, but we just wanted to watch her and smile as she enjoyed herself! (I did get a picture of the after-math)
Lately she loves to throw everything on the ground, or just move it from one place to the next. I will surely take pictures the next time she is in the middle of her, "making a mess activity"!
P.S. She usually goes down so well, but I think she may be getting a molar in this week. That would be her 7th tooth, we will see!

I never liked having to hear Connor cry himself to sleep but he always got the point when we made him. Babies are so funny because they'll do so good for so long and then have a hard night, which would always make me think something was wrong because it was out of the ordinary. But for me, most times it was just Connor going through a new phase where he felt the need to test his boundaries.
Way to go on getting your little one to sleep tonight! She looks adorable in there sleeping and the mess she made of Geoff's shirts is cute. I bet she had a blast.
My grandbaby, who is the same age as Paityn, is also going through this stage of sobbing her heart out before sleep. She looks like she is over tired but nothing will console her. Eventually she falls asleep and is then out for the night. It hurts so to watch though!
Ah yes, the 'lets test mummmy and daddy' stage ! .... I recall my son doing the same thing,! they soon learn that crying just for 'attenton' alone doen't work. it IS hard on the parents though , but if both of you stick to the 'no means no' rule the she can't play one parent against the other !
Paityn certainly had fun with those t shirts ! LOL
aren't babies and little kids cute when they sleep. Funny how you can buy them all these expensive toys and playing with clothes or a box seems to entertain them for hours.
It's hard hearing them cry or when they get older pleading for something. I was babysitting for a friend's 5 year old recently and he was pleading with me to give him more chocolate, and I kept saying no it was too close to bedtime, but it really took me alot to keep saying no and not just give in.
Hope you got a video of her playing with the clothes.

How precious is that sleeping picture. Taylor does not like to be on her tummy yet except if one of us is holding her, than she sleeps like a log. I love your posts, they are so fun to read. I can't believe she has that many teeth. Taylor does not have any yet but I think this week is it. She's so clingy and her nose is running like crazy, which it never does, and she looks miserable. Any suggestions that helped you guys? It will be fun to see you on Sat and see how big they are getting.
