I just wanted to share how Geoff's birthday went. Some have already heard everything about it, but others haven't and I want to write it down for memories. The day started out by waking up around 7 am, to Paityn's cries, and Geoff's coughing. I only hoped that the day would get better, even though both of them were sick.
At 9 am I had to run a quick errand (ok, I forgot to get the cash out of my secret bank account days ahead of time). At about 9:50 am, we started driving, Geoff having no idea where we were going, and, I trying to trick him (just the beginning of my trickery)! Well we drove over to IHOP where his family was waiting for us to join them for a birthday breakfast. Actually we arrived before some of them and I tried to be a little late..oops!!
After breakfast, we headed home, Geoff excited to relax, maybe take a nap. Next thing he knew, Anmaree walked in the door, ready to play with Paityn while I took him on his next adventure. We hopped in the car and I drove to his work, and told him to go and get his golf clubs (this step could have been avoided if his clubs were at our home). He was wondering at that point, and I told him we were going golfing, he insisted I would not have fun golfing 9 holes, and I said that it would be fine. Well, we ended up at Mulligan's and Geoff was happy to know that we were just going to the driving range to hit a bucket of balls! That was fun, I started off horribly, but with Geoff's direction I did fairly well for a newcomer. Geoff did awesome.

After the driving range, he again thought we were just going to head home, but I started driving the other way, and drove over to UINTA GOLF, a golf store. As I was pulling closer, he said, "um...are you taking me where I think you are?" I assured him I was, and he began resisting from that point on. We went inside, I walked straight to the Left Handed irons, and he started saying, "we can't afford this, thank you, but no thanks."
Long story short, after 20 minutes of persuading, and getting a sales guy to help talk him into it, we found a great set of irons. Callaway Big Bertha's! He absolutely loved them, but didn't want me to spend that much money on something only he could use. Luckily, I had stashed LOTS of money away for this special present, and in the end he couldn't be more happy to finally have a VERY nice set of golf clubs.

Irons in tow, we headed home, relieved Anmaree of Paityn duty, and relaxed for a few hours. By this point Geoff was getting more sick, but I still had more up my sleeve.
I called the restaurant I wanted to take him to so I could make a reservation if possible, no answer, so I called their other location, number disconnected as well. I then called a former restaurant partner who told me they went out of business. I was bummed, because they had seared ahi tuna, which Geoff loves. Luckily I called ahead I guess. I decided on another restaurant at that point.
Geoff's mom, Lyn, came over at 5:30 and took over Paityn duty, while we took off to dinner. I decided to add to my trickery, and drove to the first restaurant, Harry's! We pulled in to the parking lot, and I said, "OH MY GOODNESS, they are closed down, no way, this is not good, I have a bunch of your friends meeting us here. I can't believe it, I wanted to take you here so bad, because they are supposed to have one of your favorite meals". Geoff replies, "well you better call everyone". So I began pulling into a parking space, and getting out my phone, and then quickly, I sped off with a big smile on my face and told him about my earlier experience!! After a laugh, he was more confused, but then as we ended up at Mikado, he was happy.

Our friends Brandon and Kim, already inside, were there to have dinner with Geoff and I. We had a wonderful meal. Sushi, edamame, and of course Geoff got his favorite dish, Seared Ahi Tuna, which he loved. For those who don't like sushi, this place has some amazing rolls, I can even handle there J Roll!

After dinner, we picked up Paityn, who was crying for mommy and daddy, and went over to B & K's house for Rock Band playing and cake eating.
What a fun filled day we had, but it really did Geoff in. He could hardly wake up on Easter morning!

(ok, that was the long version...hope you enjoyed!)
