Till we meet again

As most of you know, Grandpa George Osmond passed away a week ago today. Geoff should be writing this blog because his Grandpa is the one that died, but I will take the ropes I guess, I just don't know as much about him and never really knew him in his active years of life. Both of us feel that his passing was for the better, because his health had been deteriorating over the past several years, and we know he is much happier being with his wife again. The funeral was amazing. We began early Friday morning with a private family viewing, then a public viewing, then a visit with President Thomas S. Monson, followed by a family prayer before the actual funeral took place. The funeral included speaches from each of the nine children, and almost every one included jokes and laughter into their words. Between tears there was plenty of smiling going on, and I think that is how a funeral should be. Celebration rather than simply mourning, especially when one is better off being on the other side, free from pain and illness. After the funeral we headed over to the cemetary up on a hill in Orem (i think). There, we had a dedication of the grave given by Virl, the oldest son, and a gun salute also took place. In the end, all grandchildren (and spouses), and great grandchildren were given a balloon and let into the air at the same time. That was neat to see!

What a great day of remembering Grandpa George...we will always remember him and the love he had for his family!!
